IGF began the year with its Guitar in London Sunday series at Kings Place on 9 January 2022, featuring Young Artist Platform (YAP) guitarists – past and present – Shannon-Latoyah Simon and Sasha Savaloni

In this and our future Guitar in London Sunday afternoon concerts on 30 January and 27 March 2022, IGF will continue to present YAP recipients as well as reaching out to past YAP recipients, during these difficult Covid-restricted times, offering continuing support.

On Sunday 30 January 2022, we look forward to hearing two young performers, Emanuele Addis and Hope Cramsie, as well as the award-winning classical guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas, who is not only a fine musician and guitarist but has also been a great inspiration to many young performers. Their programmes include IGF Commissions – Marinus by Joe Cutler, IGF La Leona Commissions – Waves Caress the Skin of an Ancient Rock… by Electra Perivolaris and, Cuban music – En Cinco Lineas by Eduardo Martín, one of the Cuban composers whose compositions Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas championed, as well as other well-loved classical guitar repertoire.
