Multi Award-winning guitarist and composer Antonio Forcione is one of the world’s most celebrated and inspirational acoustic guitarists. He is also an excellent and patient teacher. Here is a unique chance to study with him, assisted by the wonderful singer songwriter and guitarists Jule Malischke
Antonio will use a selection of his own compositions to demonstrate techniques including right-hand tapping, body percussion and harmonics as well as how to accompany a voice and how to arrange a cover on guitar. Furthermore, Antonio will draw from his wealth of experience playing music from all corners of the globe to show students rhythmic and melodic characteristics of music from Brazil, Africa, Spain and Cuba, and how to incorporate these creatively in both composition and improvisation.
Students will be learning from a selection of Antonio’s own compositions, and as such the course is not suitable for complete beginners. It is recommended that students have some experience of finger style or flat-picking guitar playing, as well as good knowledge of open position chords and the ability to play bar chords confidently. Students can expect to be creative and there will be freedom to jam around the ideas being shown in the masterclasses. This truly is a rare and unique opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most masterful acoustic guitarists.
Jule Malischke’s wide musical skills, ranging from classical guitar to modern fingerstyle and writing original songs, make her a unique guitarist and singer-songwriter.
Using different songs, this workshop features different accompaniment concepts, showing how it is possible to make a piece sound stylistically different, to vary and or expand chords and to utilize special techniques (such as percussion and perfect groove).
The aim is to develop an individual and harmonious overall concept that gives a song its own ‘special atmosphere’ without standing in the way of the sung melody. foreground. Exercises for the independence and synchronizing of voice and guitar will also be presented.
