October 2019

Kings Place Hall One

Venus and the guitar

Flamenco Pasión
Antonia Jimenez, Afra Rubino and Bettina Flater flamenco guitar soloists
with Alicia Morales voice and Nasrine Rahmani percussion

Flamenco is widely seen as the most male dominated form of guitar playing, but things have been changing and there is now a wave of great female guitarists emerging. Tonight’s concert features three of the very best, especially brought together for this show; Antonia Jimenez, Afra Rubino and Bettina Flater. They are joined by Nasrine Rahmani who has become the main reference for female flamenco percussionists, recognised for her delicate and tasteful accompaniment and surprising strength as a soloist and vocalist Alicia Morales from Granada who is regarded as one of today’s greatest female flamenco singers.

This is a special, one-off event which is not to be missed!
