IGF Young Artist Platform (YAP) aims to help young guitarists in the critical phase between the final stages of music education and the concert platform.
We are taking applications for the 13th June 2026 auditions for the IGF Young Artist Platform 2026-27.
The closing date is Friday 5th June at 11:00 pm.
Applications are open to guitarists up to and including 30 years of age. We accept applications from soloists and from ensembles which include guitar.
IGF YAP is a UK-based scheme, so applicants must be based in the UK at the time of application and throughout the 2026-27 season.

When applying you will need to have the following documents ready to upload:
- a short CV which includes details of your music education (conservatoire, music school, etc.)
- proof of date of birth (such as passport or driving licence)
Auditions will be held in Central London on Saturday 13th June 2026, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm in front of a panel of experts.
Applications close at 10:59pm BST on Friday 5th June 2026. If invited for audition, you will hear by Tuesday 9th June at 6pm.
If invited for audition, you will play a programme of 10 minutes of your own choice. Prior to your audition you will also need to submit three sample programmes of 45 minutes (these don’t have to consist of music you actually play) each of which needs to include at least one piece from the IGF repertoire list of commissioned works (to be found on the IGF website under the NEW MUSIC button at the top of the page).
If successful, you will be offered concerts at IGF festivals in the 2026-27 season as well as mentoring and workshops in a range of subjects. IGF commissions new music especially for the YAP programme and you will be expected to play a minimum of two new pieces, one at London Guitar Festival in October 2026 and a second one in spring/summer 2027, and we will also expect you to learn one additional new piece from the IGF repertoire list of commissioned works during the 2026-27 season.
