Auditions are held on Saturday 16 September 2017 at Kings Place in front of a Panel of experts.
Applications close on Monday 11 September. If invited for audition you will hear by 14 September 2017.
At the audition, you will play a programme of 10 minutes of your own choice and provide three sample programmes of 45 minutes (these don’t have to consist of music you actually play) which each need to include at least one piece of the IGF repertoire list of commissioned work (to be found on the IGF website under the CREATE button at the top menu).
If successful, you will be offered concerts at IGF festivals in the 2017/18 season as well as mentoring and workshops in a range of subjects. IGF commissions new music especially for the YAP programme and you will be expected to play a minimum of two new pieces, one at London Guitar Festival on Saturday 28 October 2017 and a second one in spring/summer 2018, we will also expect you to learn one additional new piece from the IGF repertoire list of commissioned work during the 2017/18 season.
IGF YAP aims to help young guitarist in the critical phase between the final stages of music education and the concert platform.
