The flamenco guitar course by Juan Martín will be based on his own bespoke teaching materials and is suitable for guitarists of various levels who have either played some flamenco before or guitarists of other styles wishing to learn about flamenco. He will cover various flamenco forms from the Soleá through to Alegrias, Tientos and lighter forms such as the Rumba . Juan will teach some basic flamenco techniques including various rasgueados, thumb, rumba and the picado for fast scales. The correct basic hand position for the left hand will be covered with an emphasis on ligado playing and the correct use of the left hand barring finger.

The class is hosted by Gypsy Jazz guitarist John Wheatcroft: 10am-12noon with John who is joined by Bireli 1.30pm-3.30pm
