jazz guitar workshop with Biréli Lagrène & John Wheatcroft

IGF presents: an opportunity to learn from legendary jazz guitarist Biréli Lagrène.

Biréli does not normally teach so this is an extremely rare opportunity to meet him up close and learn with him.

What to expect:
This workshop is hosted by acclaimed Gypsy Jazz guitarist John Wheatcroft.

Note: Biréli will be teaching with John for two hours only.

What is the minimum skill level for players?
Whilst there is no restriction, it is recommended that players have a skill level above grade 1 (or 2-3 yrs playing experience).

Where is the class?
The workshop takes place in rooms accessed from the concert level foyer (floor B -2) at Kings Place. You will receive further information by email closer to the event.

classical guitar masterclass with david russell

Sun 21 July | 10am – 1pm; 2pm – 5pm

IGF presents: an opportunity to learn from one of the giants of the classical guitar today David Russell.

His beautifully polished and refined playing has made him a hero to guitarists and audiences the world over.

What to expect:
David is a much sought after teacher, famous for his patience, friendly approach and ability to give students of every level an invaluable experience transforming their playing.

Masterclass slots are 30 minutes (players can observe when not playing) and the cost is £75.

These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis but you can select your preference for a morning or afternoon slot when you book your place.

  • 10am-1pm morning masterclass sessions for players
  • 2pm-5pm afternoon masterclass sessions for players

What is the minimum skill level for players?
Whilst there is no restriction, it is recommended that players have a skill level above grade 1 to benefit most from the masterclass style of tuition.

Can I come and listen?
Yes! This class is open to observers, please book a place and select the observer ticket (£40). Observers are welcome to attend for the whole day.
